Lightning Bug Rain

There was a warrior who lifted his head and felt like his battle was lost,

Even though he fought with all his might and no matter what the cost.

He was heart sore, weary and couldn’t even find strength to lift his blade,

He saw there was no peace to be found until in the ground he was laid.

That is when he needed to step off the battlefield and seek alone the face of God.

As the tears flowed down in streams, he could do no more than lift his eyes to heaven,

He needed a breath of fresh air, a moment of peace to remember Christ his haven.

And as he walked that mile; with heavy heart and bloody hands,

He wondered through his tears if there was any, other than Christ, who understands.

God showed him a miracle, taught a dear lesson, all while easing his pain.

God did it all while the warrior walked under a stormy sky and in a lightning bug rain.

As the darkness settled around him, it all started with a flame,

Before he even had time to wonder at the flicker, he was in the middle of a lightning bug rain.

That moment soothed his sorrow as God used it to ease his pain,

God showed him His love by taking him and walking through a lightning bug rain.

On days when the warrior is standing beaten, bruised, with heart torn,

When his sword has grown dull and all his armor thin and worn.

When he can’t lift his head for fear of being bloodied,

Days when he’s weary of battle and pain and being muddied.

When his back is raw and wounded from the enemies sharp claws,

And he looks with steadfast weary gaze at the lion and his jaws.

It is then God takes him by the arm and leads him from the line,

God sees his wounds and the droop of his head then tells him that “it’s time ”

“Time to see the sun set and to walk ever so slowly down the lane.”

As they walk and they talk, God gives him comfort, beneath a stormy sky- in a lightning bug rain.

The warrior walked that mile with Christ his Savior and Lord.

That one long mile beneath a dark and threatening sky.

He cried powerful and noble tears yet never once asked “why?”

He knew that to truly follow Christ, is to be at war,

To fight and win, battle and lose, to be held close then pushed far.

God understands that every warrior needs a short reprieve from battle,

A chance to breathe easy and be away from those who meddle.

Yet the warrior knew that a rest couldn’t last forever, such is the nature of life.

So he turned to once again face the fight and readied himself for the strife.

He will hold forever dear the memory of walking with God down a lane…

… With a dark stormy sky above him… and surrounded by a lightning bug rain.

I Am Rosemary’s Grandaughter ~*

She’s the hub of our world, the center of our family circle;

With a smile like a light and a laugh more like a chuckle.

She always worked hard for herself…but mainly for us ~ her loves,

Watching out for our lives and our souls as if we were frail doves.

She has been there always strong and steady, though never silent nor still,

Standing for truth and speaking it clearly making us, her pain, to feel.

Though we didn’t always agree or see eye to eye,

She was always loving and there to hold us when we cry.

Now you are gone and it’s our turn to step up and be strong,

To put aside our differences, think of others and forgive all wrong.

To love Jesus Christ first, others second and ourselves last,

To look to the future, remember the good and learn from the past.

Goodbye Grandma Rosemary, you were my Grandma but you were also my friend,

And now I look to heaven and thank God for your life and a prayer I send.

You will always be a part of my life, as the clay bears the marks of the potter,

Because I know who I am…I am Rosemary’s Grandaughter.

There are many times as we walk through this world of toil and pain,

That fear grabs hold of our hearts, and won’t let go driving us near insane.

We fear what know and what we don’t understand,

We fear what we see, and what we can’t, we fear being strong or taking a stand.

We fear being to open, people might get to close,

We fear being alone, solitude and friendship, both we oppose.

We fear our own strength, the responsibility is far to great,

we fear our own weakness, not knowing weakness is a human trait.

We fear our sleep, the dreams that strike, the past that haunts,

We fear the day, the present that hounds…the future that daunts.

Yet there is one who has no fear in his heart or mind,

He conquered it long ago and is loving gentle and kind,

He stretches out His nail scarred hands wanting to take your fear away,

Because of Him you need never again fear the sleep of night, or terror of day.

You may ask, “who is this man, who conquered fear for all?

Who was the One who sacrificed His life so I may live, walk and not fall?

I will tell His name, the Name that took my fear,

The Name above every name, yet remains so near.

His truth cuts through the lies of fear, like a double edged sword,

It is no secret of whom I speak… He is JESUS CHRIST THE LORD.

Freedom Isn’t Free ~*

When sin holds us tight, and chains us in the dark and the cold,

We lose our hope, misplace our courage, and we forget how to be bold.

Though we may try to break the chains that bind our heart and soul,

Our own strength is futile, if freedom is our goal.

It matters not how we scream, swear or fight,

Not promises, not pleadings, nor petitions will help us out a mite.

Chained in sin, death and darkness, are we all from Adam’s race,

Cursed to walk in darkness, never seeing God’s glorious face.

You may ask, “Why have you come to tell me, that all our hope is lost?”

Despair is not my message, but you have to know the cost!

For the freedom of our souls, there is a price that must be paid,

An account must be given for all sins which at our feet are laid.

“Freedom is not free!!”, I have heard many people say,

This is true of many things, but especially of your soul this day!

Your soul , from deaths dark clutches, can certainly be released,

Your heart made clean, your sin removed, as far as the west is from the east.

Yet the price of your release, is greater than you can bear,

Death is the price, it must be paid, sin, God’s compassion, does not share.

Now…REJOICE with me, for to you good news I bring,

The price of your release has been paid, paid by the Most High King!

His Son was sent to pay the cost, death He paid for all,

Perfect in His glory, Almighty, Eternal, for us He gave up His heavenly hall.

He came and took our punishment, the beatings, scorn and shame,

He who made the heavens and earth, and knows each star by name.

Bleeding and broken He carried OUR cross, to free us from death and sin,

The Prince of Peace, God of Hosts, knew He would ultimately win…

The moment came, His life poured out, a sinless man was dead!

The demons cheered, the angels wept, it was for US He bled!

Death was conquered soon enough, it had no power over God’s own Son,

He came back to life to give us life and freedom, if only to Him we will come!

He bought our lives, with His own life’s blood, poured out on Calvary,

He opens His arms and has loosed our chains, now we may be free!!!!!!

After all of this, why are so many still in chains?

Why do you choose the darkness, why do you choose the pains?

The door is open, the chains are broken, death defeated and gone,

All you must do is stand up and walk out, open your eyes to the dawn!

God’s only Son bought you, and offers you light and love,

He wishes to make you clean and pure from sin, to be with you forever above.

To welcome you as His child, beloved and friend,

To help you on your way, and to your death to put an end.

Linger no longer in your pit, going deeper into hell!

God has glories in store for you, that words could never tell.

Put your trust in HIM, and He will find you and carry you out,

Out of your chains, darkness and death He will take you, and the enemy He will rout.

Grab a hold and don’t let go, don’t whimper, whine or fuss,

The One who holds you will never leave you, His name is JESUS!

The Sound Of Silence ~*

As the silence surrounds you stop and listen to the sound,

The sound of your heart beat as it goes “thump-thump” instead of “pound-pound”.

Listen to the stars as they sing praises to the Most High King.

Listen to God calling you allow your soul to take wing.

Every day there must be time to sit in silence, to reflect and pray,

How else will you find the courage and conviction to face the day?

We are called to, “Be still and know that I Am God.”

Yet so often we shun the silenceas on our path we trod.

We fill our life with noiseso loud we cannot think,

We hear only the sound of moneyas it goes, “clink-clink-clink.”

No wonder so many people don’t know who they truly are inside…

They never learned to listen but rather they learned to hide.

Faithful ~*

Christ is always faithful, no matter my highs or lows,

He is always by my side…no matter the caresses or blows.

Friends, I’ve had a hard life that much is true,

But tell me who hasn’t…was it them or you?

We all have our own crosses to bear,

Yet we have Christ, our burden with to share.

There are times when we must walk without brother or friend,

But when all others leave us, He’ll be there to the very end.

Though its friendship that we long for, and love that we need,

There are days when we must follow, giving Christ our only heed.

And we will find when the road gets tough,

When all our friends have had enough,

That no matter how long the haul…

Our Lord will be with us through it all.

*~Darkness and Light ~*

When all the lights go out around you, and you are left standing in a cold dark place;

Keep your eyes on the light that’s within you, the light of God’s love and His grace.

When all others leave you and push you away,

Keep your eyes on Jesus, don’t let yourself wander or stray.

Though the pain within your heart and your soul is so great you feel as though you’ll explode,

The pain of this world lasts only a moment, while the glories of heaven shall be your eternal abode.

So cower not from the fight that the Lord has laid before your feet,

Fight with confidence in your weakness and God’s strength, never daring to sound retreat.

He has never forsaken you, He shall certainly NOT start now,

God loves you more than you could ever know, and has given you His vow!

Rain On Me *~*

I love the rain.

I love the smell of damp earth, the sound of thunder rolling down our canyon and the sight of lightning flashing across a dark sky.

There are some people who don’t like rain.

I can see why when I ponder on it. Rain is not “comfortable” {especially in northern NM,} it is cold, creates a really big mess {especially if you have dogs} and if you’re from the south west/west then it usually comes with a good dose of horizontal hail just to top it off. Oh! and did I mention that it brings dark, foreboding clouds and it interrupts your schedule like little else will {especially if you live in a place with lots of arroyos}?

So I see why there are days when I find one my favorite things a burden. On a day when I have a picnic with friends planned, or a day at the zoo with the nieces and nephews or just a day when I feel like playing in the sunshine. On days such as these rain is considered to be inconvenient antbest and anger inducing at worst.

I was thinking today how it’s the same in our relationship with God.

Rain is considered a blessing throughout Scripture

Acts 14:17

Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

Deuteronomy 28:12

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

But it’s more than just physical rain,  God uses “rain” to teach us and refine us into the Christians He would have us be!

Deuteronomy 32:2

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

Romans 5:2b~5

… and we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

I liken “tribulation” to “rain” in my mind because we treat them the same.

Rain brings about the good end for which it was designed, it is a blessing that many don’t accept and appreciate as God’s good and perfect gift for, not only us, but those around us as well.

Tribulation brings about the good end in our lives for which it is designed and very few of us {myself included most of the time} accept and appreciate the refining that takes place in our lives that could never happen other wise.

Crops won’t grow with out rain.

Fruits of the Spirit won’t grow with out tribulation.

Where are the Children?

Look around you, do you notice the face that’s missing? Look into the eyes of the adults around you, do you see a parent who longs for the child that they will never get to hold?

Do you know that every year in the United States Alone 1,610,000 {1 million six hundred and ten thousand} children are “missing”?

1.31 million are killed by their mothers before they ever even get to take their first breath, 300,000 are bought and sold in the human slave trade.

United States Of America

–>The global market of child trafficking at over  $12 billion a year with over 1.2 million child victims.  UNICEF

–>Nearly half of all pregnancies among American women are unintended, and 4 in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. 22% of all pregnancies end in abortion.

–>At least half of all American women will face an unintended pregnancy by age 45 and, at current rates; about one-third will have had an abortion.

–>Fifty percent of U.S. women obtaining abortion are younger than 25

–>Women who obtain abortion represent every religious affiliation. 43% of women obtaining abortion identify themselves as Protestant, and 27% as Catholic; and 13% of abortion patients describe themselves as born-again or Evangelical Christians.

–> From 1973 through 2008, nearly 50 million legal abortions occurred.[2]

Number of abortions per year: Approximately 42 Million

Number of children bought and sold in the sex trade/slave trade: Approximately 1.2 million

I didn’t write today to go over and over statistics, many of you have heard them already. and I’m not here to rant about the evilness of people…I want to re-break your heart for what is happening in our nation and across the world. To re-awaken in your heart a love for the “least of these” that doesn’t rely on words alone but action as well.

I have prayed, cried and agonized over this post and what I am going to ask of you, I have prayed for God’s guidance and grace, I have cried over the lives killed and abused, I have agonized over the sorrow and lostness of those who would take the innocent lives that God loves and destroy them, whether for monetary gain, selfish greed, scared ignorance or political conviction it makes no difference…a life has been lost.

Matthew 19:14

But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

I’m not asking for money or for you to feel bad for a moment and then go right back to life as before. I am asking for something far more personal, precious and priceless.

A National Day of Fasting and Praying for All the “Lost” Children

I’m calling for all of my brothers and sisters to join me in Spirit and in Truth on the

17th day of NOVEMBER in the year of our LORD 2012

to fast and pray, not for the children alone but also for the Mother’s who gave them up, the doctors who killed them, the culture that accepts and encourages the murder of innocents, the traffickers who exploit them, the men and women who abuse them, thoe who turn a blind eye. Pray for the forgiveness of our Nation and for the souls across the world that God so desires to claim as His own. Pray from your heart and let God break it and make you aware of His great love for His children.

Matthew 26:40~41

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Please read this quote from Dr. Pendergraft taken from his website Latetermabortion where you can read all he has to say if you wish.

“We now live in a climate where physicians are legitimately intimidated and fearful of terminating even medically indicated abortions in late term because of the anti-abortion political positions maintained by the hospitals they may work in, along with the anti-abortion opinions now permeating hospital and medical boards, the legislature and our legal systems.

I am a highly trained Board Certified Ob/Gyn and completed a two year fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. I have been performing pregnancy terminations for 25 years and I have helped thousands of women in late second trimester and late term pregnancies in need of an abortion. I have been subjected to numerous false criticisms, allegations and convictions. I have encountered enormous obstacles, have spent and continue to spend endless amounts of time and incalculable funds on legal defense. I have endured threats against my life and face daunting obstructions of one form or another on a daily basis. I do this because I believe so strongly in a women’s right to choose, and particularly for those who must face fetal abnormalities in the late second or third trimester of pregnancy. When I state that I can understand why physicians do not want to take the risk of helping  those patients, I can say that I understand why.

Yet, I stand strong, committed, and even more dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, therapeutic termination of pregnancy procedures in a considerate and respectful manner. strives to provide professional and courteous services to women, their partners, and their families who are considering the decision to end their pregnancies for fetal or maternal reasons.”

the reason that I wanted you to read this quote is because I wanted you to see how violence is viewed, I don’t condone any behavior that is NOT Christ like and glorifying to God, and name calling, harassment and violence is not how Truth is conveyed if its acceptance is desired. I also wished for you to see the strong conviction and feeling that he is in the right, violence won’t change his heart only the love and truth of God can break through the lies that he knows and change his heart and soul for good. How is God’s love and truth made real in a life that we have never even met and probably never will? PRAYER!

This is a call and a time to PRAY and spend time on our knees before God! If you are sincere and truly hungry to understand God’s heart and to stand in the gap for those unable to do so for themselves then I firmly believe that God will make it very clear to you how He would have you get involved.

Deuteronomy 30:15-1915 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; 18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

When our country was young anytime a great crisis arose the people were called upon to fast and to pray that God would have mercy and spare them. Now is such a time. Will we fall to our knees repent of our sins and the sins of our nation and once again seek God’s face? I hope and pray that it will be so.

I know that there are some who say that they cannot do a full fast, then talk to God and ask what you can give up other than food…how about the tv or the internet. Why not spend the time that you would’ve spent in front of a screen and spend it in front of God’s throne instead? For those that can though I do urge you to fast completely and sincerely set the 17th of November aside in order to seek God.
