That fear grabs hold of our hearts, and won’t let go driving us near insane.
We fear what know and what we don’t understand,
We fear what we see, and what we can’t, we fear being strong or taking a stand.
We fear being to open, people might get to close,
We fear being alone, solitude and friendship, both we oppose.
We fear our own strength, the responsibility is far to great,
we fear our own weakness, not knowing weakness is a human trait.
We fear our sleep, the dreams that strike, the past that haunts,
We fear the day, the present that hounds…the future that daunts.
Yet there is one who has no fear in his heart or mind,
He conquered it long ago and is loving gentle and kind,
He stretches out His nail scarred hands wanting to take your fear away,
Because of Him you need never again fear the sleep of night, or terror of day.
You may ask, “who is this man, who conquered fear for all?
Who was the One who sacrificed His life so I may live, walk and not fall?
I will tell His name, the Name that took my fear,
The Name above every name, yet remains so near.
His truth cuts through the lies of fear, like a double edged sword,
It is no secret of whom I speak… He is JESUS CHRIST THE LORD.
